A Letter to a Friend

Dear Stephanie,

I think about you a lot. I think about your smile and cheerfulness. I think about our time together at school. I think about the joy you brought to other people.

I think about how strong you were. I think about how brave you must have been. I think about how you must have felt. I think about your family. I think about your sisters. I think about your Mom. I think about your husband. I think about your friends. I think about all the peoples whose lives you've affected and you didn't even know it.

Everytime I hear The Fray, I think about your funeral. I think about the tears, cries and sobs from those you loved you most. I think about the strength it took for them to be in that room. I think about the hole they must have in their lives now.

I think about you when I think about my little girls. I think about my own fear of losing them before their time. I think about the bond they will have as sisters. I think about all that I have and what you never had the chance to experience. I think about you looking down over us. I think about how we hadn't spoken in years and yet I think about you so much.

You are often in my thoughts and you make sure that I appreciate every day that I have. Thank you for being so brave and sharing your battle with the rest of us.

I am one of many who will never forget your strength and the lessons that you taught.

With love,

Laura

I wrote this letter a while ago, but never found the right time to share it. This weekend, Stephanie's closest friends set out to raise money for the cause in her name and so I thought the time was as good as any.

Je me sens de la même façon. Je n'ai jamais été proche de Stéphanie mais lui ai parlé quelques fois. Par contre, sa bonne humeur, sa force et son courage m'ont grandement affectée. Bien écrit.
